RADIO FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION (RFID)

The use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) in the industrial and residential lifting industry became common practice in many European countries from 2009 and has been in demand since. However during this time most companies in the lifting industry used ‘off the shelf’ programs which took on the ‘one size fits all’ approach that was not always a practical solution for all situations.

Ranger reviewed the products and services that were on offer and discovered that the current RFID tools available to the market were achieving the basic job of asset management, but none were truly catering for the Australian lifting industry.

Our custom RFID solution has been designed to fully intergrate with our e-Testinspect system to save you time and money by effortlessly registering, identifying and managing your lifting components on site.

RFID involves equipment being tagged with a unique chip which is scanned to identify the item electronically. The information is then transferred to our free e-Testinspect system. No more paperwork!

IN-HOUSE SERVICES

Our mobile testing services, including our new large testing trucks, ensures the majority of your lifting equipment can be tested on-site. Not only does this save time on transportation costs and downtime, it provides reassurance to your team who have peace of mind knowing all their equipment is still on-site.

Drop off your equipment at Ranger HQ and our team will inspect your equipment to the applicable Australian Standard. We’ll notify you regarding any failed items and the requirement to bring the equipment back up to Standard.

Our repair before replace policy and stock on hand means you can be back up and running with little downtime. The current Australian Standard requires a proof test to be applied to some repairs of chain slings which we will perform on our in-house test bed.

Your equipment will be tagged and entered into our e-Testinspect online asset register system which is accessible 24/7 and allows you to view your register and print reports of thorough examination when it suits you.

The Ranger team will then advise that your equipment has been re-certified to Australian Standards and is ready for pick up.

When you need your equipment back urgently try our Express Drop + Collect service. Popular with clients who need their equipment
back in a hurry, our express service offers:

  • Priority in the inspection queue
  • Express Register & Reports
  • Printed Report & Thorough examination Certificates

Where possible our express services will be completed in a 4 hour window.

Prior to commencing work you will be given a quote based on your specific requirements and a service timeframe will also be discussed.

HEAVY LIFT SERVICES

HEAVY OR CRITICAL LIFT PLANNING

PRODUCT APPLICATIONS

Heavy or critical lift plans/procedures are essential documents that provide a record of the planning process that in turn becomes an effective communication tool to convey lift requirements and work authorisation to workers.

The plan for any lifting operation must address the foreseeable risks involved in the work and identify the appropriate resources (including people) necessary for safe completion of the job.

In some case a lifting plan is a statutory requirement due to the risks and potential hazards that come from heavy or critical lifts.

With heavy lifts the products used require the D/d (diameter to diameter) information to determine the efficiency of the hardware. You can’t just assume that each product will work together at 100% of the working load limit. In some applications, when using equalization sheaves or plates for example, a greater working load limit can be applied.

Most heavy or critical lifts require engineered solutions. Ranger can design, manufacture and supply all engineered products that comply with Australian Standards.

We have extensive history and knowledge of heavy lifting and awkward lifting applications where nonconventional methods have been required.

Download our Heavy Lift Services Brochure.

WHAT IS A HEAVY LIFT?

A heavy lift is generally considered for the transportation, lifting or installation of heavy items which are unable to be separated into sections and installed individually. These oversized items are usually manufactured off-site then transported to site and lifted or installed into place.

Commonly a heavy lift is considered 50 tonnes to 1000 tonnes and over; with widths and heights that would not fit within the parameters of conventional containers or transporters. One main characteristic for heavy lift goods is the absence of standardisation which then requires an individual heavy lift or critical lift plan.

It can take months to plan, organise, prepare for and implement a heavy lift. Ranger can help you through all stages of this process, from problem solving right through to getting the final sign off from all required parties.

HEIGHT SAFETY SOLUTIONS

Our custom built e-Testinspect program will automatically send out reminders of all your height safety equipment that is due for re-certification.
