Frogline Height Safety System

Ranger supplied, installed and certified a permanent safety line for a garden bed on the Northconnex project. The site elevation meant that at some sections there was a 11m fall from the garden bed. The safety line was required to protect the landscape gardeners from falling while maintaining the gardens ongoing.

Ranger had to meet a few critical areas of concern with the design and installation of the system. The lines needed to be shoulder height and the mounting system could be either welded or bolted on. However, the sound barrier wall was in an area with high winds and the structure could be affected once the nuts that hold up the columns of the wall were removed for installation.

Ranger designed the safety line mounting post (bolt-on) and ensured the weight was kept at a minimum due to the  undulating elevation of the site which and the fact that the posts needed to be carried as the use a crane was not possible. The posts were installed on every second column and certified by a third party for compliance.

The line was installed on a 270m and 30m section both located behind the sound barrier wall on the southern side of the site.
