Ranger Lifting Wins 2023 Family Business Excellence Award
Ranger Lifting celebrates winning the Family Business Association 2023 Established Business (NSW & ACT) Award.
The Family Business Association is made up of over 700 businesses nationally. Ranger has competed with 5 other finalists to become the overall winner of the Family Business Award in each category, to be presented at the Family Business Conference – Asia Pacific in May 2024.
Ranger have come a long way since Steve first opened the doors 25 years ago and now have branches in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and an affiliate business in Adelaide. In an industry that’s known for being extremely slow-moving and traditional, they’re challenging the way things have always been done and relentlessly advocating to improve lifting and safety standards in this country.
While Ranger are working on multi-million-dollar contracts, they still have clients that have been with them from the very beginning.
When reflecting on what’s made Ranger successful there’s two things that really stand out. Firstly, their company mantra is Service Through Knowledge. It’s not just a throwaway line – it’s part of everything they do. They are always trying to educate and advise before we sell.
Secondly, they’re a family business built on strong foundations and people are the heart of the business. They have many employees who have been with them for over 10-years, including two sets of partners, a few sets of siblings and a few father/son combos in their various offices.
As he accepted the award on behalf of the family Tim commented “It is fantastic and a true honour when you call those in the company family, even if they have a different last name.”
