The Insider Article – Hub-and-Spoke Model

The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) is established across the world as the leading trade association for all those involved in the lifting industry.

From its UK base, it promotes enhanced standards and sustainable development for the worldwide lifting and safety industry. However, it has been accepted for a number of years that a certain amount of devolution is required for the association to deliver world-class membership value in each corner of the globe, as our journey here in Australia proves. I recently concluded a nine-year tenure at the association’s top table as a regional representative, which gave me not only the opportunity to shape the future of the industry, but also a front-row seat as the organisation planned for the years to come.

In July 2021, it was officially announced that LEEA had formed a dedicated regional council for Australia and New Zealand to take greater control and ownership over local decisions. With its own people, budget and work-plan the council will devise local solutions for local problems. I’m honoured to be part of this group of esteemed professionals.
